Why did you choose JICS?
We chose JICS because the school remained open-minded and stayed true to Christ’s teachings during COVID,”. JICS didn’t give in to fear or push unnecessary mandates—just faith, wisdom, and care for the students. That meant so much to us.
Why did you choose JICS for your child(ren)?
JICS represents more than academics—it’s a place where biblical truth is woven into everyday life. This school instills Christian values in our children and gives them spiritual tools to navigate the world with strength and grace. That’s what makes JICS so special to our family.
Bloom Where You’re Planted: Beautifying the JICS Campus with Bella Blooms
Beyond being dedicated JICS parents, the LeRays also bring beauty to life through their business, Bella Blooms Design 🌸, a Charleston-based landscape design company they started in August 2009 by Adam and Rockell LeRay.
Bella Blooms specializes in design, installation, and custom container gardening—creating spaces that radiate warmth, color, and life. Recently, Principal Andy Whitlock shared a vision for sprucing up the front entrance of the JICS campus, and Rockell eagerly offered her help.
“We used some of the existing pots and refreshed them with colorful plantings to create a welcoming, joyful feel as you walk into the school,” Rockell explained. “We also added new plantings around the building to help liven up the space.”
Through her work, Rockell sees gardening as an act of worship—an opportunity to reflect the Creator’s beauty. “As Bella Blooms grows each year, I’m reminded that God gave us a natural paint palette to create and play with,” she said. “Plants can transform any environment into a space filled with love and life.”
