Danny & Cheryl Irwin Story
"We are continually amazed by the ways God is moving at James Island Christian School," Cheryl Irwin, mother and JICC member.
While in first grade with Mrs. Katie Lewis, our daughter Lily and her classmates learned about salvation. Through prayer and intentional teaching, Lily accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior alongside her classmates—right in the classroom.
At the same time, our younger daughter Maddie was in kindergarten with Mrs. Shelby Savino. During Bible class, Mrs. Savino noticed Maddie’s deep interest and thoughtful questions about accepting Jesus into her heart. She lovingly reached out to us to share what she was seeing and encouraged us to continue the conversation at home. That very day, in the upstairs office of our home, Maddie prayed to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
As Christian parents, there is no greater joy or hope than seeing our children come to know Christ personally.
We are profoundly grateful that both of our daughters encountered the gospel in such meaningful, intentional ways through their teachers and school community.
We feel deeply blessed knowing our children spend their days in a Christ-centered, God-fearing environment—where faith is not only taught, but lived out. This is the eternal impact of Christian education, and we praise God for what He is doing at JICS.
