A written application for admission must be completed by the parents or guardian of all prospective students at JICS. Applications for enrollment are available in the JICS office for pick up, can be mailed to you, or you can print one from the links located on this page. Once a completed application for admission has been submitted, a school representative will contact you to set up an appointment for you and your student to visit the school for an academic assessment (if needed). An interview with the parent and student will then be conducted. Upon acceptance, a tuition contract will be offered and must be returned prior to the first day of attendance.
New students must present acceptable scores on a standardized test such as Stanford 9, report card grades of "C" or above, and conduct grades that indicate good study skills and good citizenship. Attendance and discipline records from all previous schools will also be used in determining admittance to JICS.
A readiness assessment evaluation must be completed on each rising K4, K5 and 1st grade student to finalize acceptance for admission. The necessity of 2nd -12th grade assessments will be determined by review of transcripts, test standardized test scores, etc.
At this time, James Island Christian School does not offer alternative or special education programs.
