
Coach J.B. Weber chosen to lead JICS as Head Football Coach for its Inaugural Season in the
Fall of 2010.........
In October of 2009, the JICS Athletic Department announced that it would be adding 8 Man Football to its list of programs offered at the school. Confirmation was sent to SCISA (South Carolina Independent School Association) and the journey began. "The biggest and most critical step from here is hiring the coach that catches the vision and has the passion and love for students that JICS needs." - Coach Jeremy Schwartz, Director of Athletics.

JICS is pleased and honored to annouce that Coach J.B. Weber has been chosen as the man to carry the torch for JICS in its first ever 8 Man Football program. Weber had joined the Citadel Football Staff in the Spring of 2007. For 2 years, J.B. worked with senior coaches at the Citadel taking care of all Information Technology and administrative needs. He then transferred to his current position at The Citadel's Academic Support Center to run the Center's Corps SQUAD Program. He will continue his work for the Citadel while joining JICS as part of its athletic staff.
Coach Weber attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, P.A., where in 2006, he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in History. Weber played Fullback for the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall from 2002 - 2005. He was a member of the 2004 Centennial Conference Championship team, and ECAC Southwest Championship team. During the 2005 season, he was named to the Centennial Conference Honor Roll for his outstanding academic performance. As a player, he also earned the Tom Gilburg Coach's Award in 2005 for the embodiment of dedication, leadership and effort, and graduated with three Varsity letters.
In 2006, Weber was appointed the Linebackers coach at Franklin & Marshall. In addition to coaching the linebackers, J.B. also coordinated the Punt Return Unit for the Diplomats. Weber coached the three leading tacklers on the F&M defense in 2006 and coached then sophomore James Gregory to a second team All-Centennial Conference Selection.
Coach Weber understands the importance of athletics and academics in a small private school setting which is dependent upon multi-sport participants. He graduated high school from Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York where he was captain of the Football team and also played baseball and Ice Hockey. Coach Weber is currently pursuing a Master's degree in History through the joint program with the Citadel and the College of Charleston.
