James Island Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International,  the South Carolina Independent School Association, and the Tri-County Admissions Council.

Our affiliation with these organizations offers opportunities for institutional advancement, collaboartive support, student activities and teacher development.

Board of Directors

The JICS School Board is a governing board of directors who serve as the spiritual leaders of our school. The school board is concerned with policy making, the financial management of the school's annual budget, and provides the overall direction of the school.

Comprised of Christian men and women, active leaders in their own professions, businesses, churches, and communities, each exemplify the Biblical model of leader/servant by giving many hours each month to serve as a board member of JICS. All are parents and/or grandparents of children presently attending JICS or of children who have graduated. Each takes seriously the role of Godly parenting and nurturing their children in the admonition of the Lord, and each is committed to excellence in Christian education. There is a box in the front office for suggestions for improvement, and the headmaster will discuss each suggestion at the monthly board meeting.  The board should not be contacted about issues with teachers or administration.  The parent must first meet with the teacher, and then with the principal and or headmaster.  The board would then make a decision with the headmaster after the correct chain of authority was followed, Matt. 18.  The headmaster will hire his staff and run the daily operation of the school with the board's full support.
